A child prodigy, Bruce Wayne Campbell, started his career in 1968 acting in the legendary musical Hair. Later, he started a folk-rock band called Pidgeon. Not much later, Jerry Brandt - the discoverer of the acclaimed pop singer Carla Simon as well as founder of the spectacular club, The Electric Circus - took control of his own path. By naming Bruce, Jobriath Boone, Jerry was determined to make a new star. For some time it even seemed he might succeed, but in spite of all of the revolutionary circumstances of the '70s, the American rock scene was not yet prepared to welcome a proudly feminine and openly gay man. Neither was the media interested in such an image and Jerry's vision of a gay glam rock star was falling apart just as was Bruce's faith in his manager. After the failure of presenting his true nature, he moved to the most fabulous apartment in the New York Chelsea Hotel and, under a new name, became a popular cabaret singer. In 1983, though, the constant pursuit of his own identity suddenly came to an end...
