This year's audience was charmed by the film And Then We Danced from the environment of traditional Georgian dance. Those who missed the film at the festival will have plenty of possibilities, as it will be shown in cinemas under our new distribution brand Queer Kino. Congratulations, the success is well deserved!

Dnes máte příležitost zhlédnout ve Scale poslední dva snímky z hlavní soutěžní sekce. Argentinský režisér a scénárista Lucio Castro ve svém debutu Konec století popisuje vzplanutí a vztah dvou mužů, který se nakonec ukáže být jiný, než se zprvu zdál. Precizně a autenticky zachycená psychologie dvojice a upřímná výpověď o dlouhodobých vztazích filmu získala hlavní cenu sanfranciského festivalu Frameline.

Brněnská část Mezipater je za půlkou, tak už nic nepromeškejte. Highlight dnešního dne bude jistě Převýchova Carmen Post (2018) - americký snímek, který loni vyhrál diváckou cenu. Promítáme od 20.30 ve velkém sále kina Art. Ale nepředbíhejme.

Jistě jste po mezipatrovém a revolučním víkendu plní dojmů a zážitků. V pondělí však nezpomalujeme, naopak přidáváme. Čeká nás pořádná filmová nálož ve všech sekcích a debata o manželství homosexuálních párů navrch k tomu.    

V pátek zahájíme brněnskou část 20. Mezipater. Od 19.00 vás v kině Scala uvítá moderátorka Adéla Elbel a po slavnostním ceremoniálu se společně podíváme na francouzský snímek Matthias a Maxime, jenž se letos blýsknul v hlavní soutěži festivalu v Cannes. Vypráví příběh dvou nerozlučných přátel, kterým vše zkomplikoval jeden polibek. 

The last program of the Prague part of Mezipatra will take place on Thursday, November 14. In addition to screenings of short films in the small hall (blocks Partners in Crime from 6:30 p.m. and Endangered Species from 8:45 p.m.), you can see the winning films of the 20th Mezipatra selected by our main and student jury. We will screen the best feature film and the best short film at 8:30 p.m. in the big hall of Světozor cinema. Buy your tickets and be surprised!

On Tuesday we have three film tips for you: an intimate portrait of upcoming transgender father Freddy Seahorse, in which documentary filmmaker Jeanie Finlay questions the basic understanding of gender, parenting and the family community, then an exciting documentary about the last days of US marriage law The Freedom to Marry (will be intriduced by director Eddie Rosenstein) and finally Brazilian melodrama of Armando Praça Greta about love destined for the dramatic end, which was nominated for Teddy Award at this year's Berlinale. We believe that you will choose!

If you do not yet know what to choose for Monday night, we have two tips for feature films in the main competition: a psychological drama about love and a sensational drama from the dance environment of traditional Georgian society. We show the films in a row at Světozor cinema.

The end of the weekend is made for the American film To the Stars, which we screen on Sunday, November 10, from 6:00 p.m. in the Světozor cinema. In all its fine-spun detail, the story told by director Martha Stephens conveys a black-and-white, almost dreamlike existence. At first glance it might seem remote to us yet it still tilts a mirror towards today’s world. Pay no mind to the opinions of others--just be yourselves and come and see one of the most distinctive female films of this festival season.

On the occasion of Mezipatra's 20th birthday, five personalities of Czech queer culture who are inseparably connected with the festival recollect their favourite films in a special retro section Reunion.
