The independent film set in the middle of a tropical jungle Malila: The Farewell Flower about the necessity to be able to say goodbye will be the country’s candidate for the Oscar for the Best Foreign Language Film, offering a meditative contemplation on the fragility of love and human life. Bullying, assault, and neon colours turn end for Pedro’s life. The empathic and visually imaginative film NeonBoy will be screened at 20:30 (8:30 pm) at the Scala cinema. Before the screening, you can come to the Klub Leitnerova to exercise at Acro Yoga workshop or meet your new love on Speed Dating, the girls start at 18:00 (6 pm), boys at 19:30 (7:30 pm). Neon colours will accompany the whole evening at the Ulta 80’s Party at the Tržnice Brno. At 22:00 (10 pm) we will light up the Zelný trh and paint with the UV colours, there will be snacks and we will look at the hot dance performances. The eighties are calling!

Mezipatra is coming to Brno! Everything starts at 4 PM at the Scala cinema on November 16th. The opening of the 19th Mezipatra festival will be presented by the popular moderator and stand-up comedian Adéla Elbel, followed by the Austrian film L'animal by Katharina Mückstein. Stylish drama with a dynamic story revealing her own sexuality and gender was introduced this year at Berlinale, where she was nominated for the Teddy Award. We have celebrated the closing of Prague part of the festival and we waved good-bye to our great foreign guests. We awarded the winning films - the best feature film We the Animals and the best short film Pre-Drink and danced to the music at Show Us Some Love party. But we are not done yet! Mezipatra in Brno officially start with the opening ceremony on Friday, November 16 at Scala cinema from 7:00 p.m. But in the mean time you can already visit the exhibition Beyond Reality at the Café Bar Scala.
