Freedom of speech, the possibility to express your opinion and peacefully exert the equality principle are not just empty phrases for us, but inseparable parts of modern society. This is why we condemn violent Saturday attacks against the Klinika autonomous social centre, when aggressors yet unknown endangered not only lives and health of people, but also these basic democratic principles.

We think that an increasingly polarized society, where more and more people openly oppose minorities, will not cure violence; it might be rather achieved through dialogue and the effort of each and every one of us to educate ourselves and our surroundings, not to succumb to prejudices and to find objective information about the world around us.

We are glad that Klinika's community is amongst those who facilitate such education and who support critical thinking, and we believe that the attacks will strengthen rather than frighten them. We pledge ourselves to keep protecting humanism and solidarity, help disadvantaged groups and search for possibilities of constructive, peaceful dialogue.
