International Feature Film Competition

Lonely Paul is struggling in New York. He lives in a boarding house and is making a living by cleaning out the flats of rent dodgers. Wye loves voguing and is a part of a family of other dancers – a family that might not be related through blood, but is bonded by mutual respect, love, and passion for dancing. Their worlds could not be more different, and yet they fall in love. When Paul realizes that Wye is trans, he must face his feelings, prejudices, and past. This love story with its contemporary approach is set in the world of New York LGBTQ+ subcultures and is full of empathy, tenderness, and authentic acting. The film was produced by Martin Scorsese and its world premiere took place in the Un Certain Regard section at this year's Cannes.
