One in a Thousand / Las Mil y Una

In a poor suburb somewhere in Argentina, the bustling lives of young people have to contend with violence as well as with the omnipresent looks of gossipy neighbours. Seventeen-year-old Iris, having just been expelled from school, spends the monotonous summer loitering around with a basketball in her hand. When wild Renata moves to the city, she immediately intrigues the quiet Iris. Despite the gossip circulating around the mysterious newcomer, the girls start talking. And a relationship full of questions and introspection starts developing against the backdrop of the concrete city, in images with a documentary tinge.
