The student jury at Mezipatra evaluates the short films submitted for the competition and awards the Best Short Film Award. Kateřina Konvalinková from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, Mahulena Kopecká from the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University and Omar El Sadek from Prague College will form the jury of the 20th festival.


Mahulena Kopecká

Mahulena Kopecká had a degree in journalism from the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University. Since 2018, she has been working on her Master's degree in Media Studies at the same faculty. Her interests include feminism and queer topics in the context of Czech media and within the subcultures of the 1990s. She is fascinated by Czech fanzines and amateur publications. Apart from her freelancing work for Czech Radio, she also writes for a London feminist zine and for the Revue Prostor website. In her free time, she reads and writes fiction.

Omar El Sadek

Omar El Sadek is an audiovisual artist specializing in 3D animated visuals, electronic sound production, and painting. He’s currently studying Fine Art & Experimental Media at Prague College while parallelly building his debut visual performance at Unsound Festival in Krakow 2019. In his work already displayed in a number of Czech galleries Omar focuses on poetic beauty of imperfections and experimenting with the fragile nature of his surroundings.
