Queens of the Dead

The zombie apocalypse is here – just as Dre kicks off a massive warehouse party with a star-studded lineup of drag queens, hoping to avoid bankruptcy. Tina Romero, daughter of the undead genre pioneer George A. Romero (Dawn of the Dead), makes her directorial debut with a film that fuses inherited talent for gore with a sparkling, contemporary satire. To celebrate the resilience and defiance of the queer community, she has assembled a cast of queer icons: Katy O’Brian (Love Lies Bleeding), Margaret Cho (Fire Island), Jack Haven (I Saw the TV Glow), Dominique Jackson (Pose), and Nina West (RuPaul’s Drag Race). The result is an instant midnight cult hit – confirmed by audiences at the Tribeca Film Festival, where the film won the Audience Award.
