European Modernity has been understood as a condition for emergence of sexuality, but there are locations where sexuality has not emerged. Legal and media representations of queerness in Russia are but one explicit example. Alexander Kondakov, Assistant Professor at European University at St. Petersburg, will give a lecture on how anti-modernity discourse produces ghostly substances of queerness. The lecture will be in English.
