Before Stonewall

Before Stonewall was created by Greta Schiller, distinctive female filmmaker of the 1970s, together with the equally important Robert Rosenberg. They managed to capture the queer culture of the 1970s faithfully, including the gay and lesbian liberation movement and the boom of the New Left. Their iconic film contributed to a radical break in the perception of the queer community in society, and this documentary rightfully resonates even 50 years later.
