You Look As If I Am Not There

The trans community might be more visible than ever before, but the depiction of trans women and trans men is still subjected to many stereotypes. As a result, the whole scale of trans identities is compressed, leaving space only for a minority of those who can identify with the representations. What to do if you’re outside of that? Try to assimilate, or stand for yourself? From the current story of a female dancer drafted to the army, to ancient mythical healers in Hawaii, the films featured in the TRANS SECTION show all the diverse forms of trans people.
