The Invisible Men / Gvarim Bilti Nir'im

Documentaries Feature and Short

This illegaly-shot documentary discloses a story the world does not want to hear. Three gay Palestinians, who scared for their safety from threatening family members, flee to the city that is percieved to be the Middle-East’s liberal oasis for sexual minorities. That is true of Tel Aviv up to a certain point – but not if you are Palestinian without a residency permit. They have no right to seek asylum, no chance to obtain a passport, an address or a bank account. On top of that Israeli police forces hunt down illegals, deport them to the Occupied Territories, and prosecute NGOs trying to help the prisoners out of an unsolvable situation. Louie is stuck in an exitless maze for over eight years, rejecting the thought of breaking ties with his culture completely. Abdu was tortured by the corrupt Palestinian police for being an Israeli spy, received asylum in Europe, and is getting ready to leave. Fares just arrived from the West Bank. A film about the blindness of international law, harsh Israeli politics and hope, that you will watch from the edge of your seat.
