Mezipatra Queer Film Festival will introduce the new trailer for the 21st edition on October 15. The event will take place online from 7:00 p.m. After the premiere, program director Veronika Hanáková will introduce the most eagerly expected films of the program, this time centred around the spirit of “Recovery”. The selected films therefore focus their attention on the problems within the LGBTQ+ community:
“This year, the trailer concentrates on the concept of fluidity,” says director Jay Walker. “The trailer symbolically begins with a journey from birth to finding balance in life… Our aim was to depict the complicated process of searching for one’s own place within the wide range of identities. I’d also like to thank the whole Mezipatra team – thanks to them, the shooting had a great atmosphere again,” concludes Walker.
The event will also feature the new Mezipatra poster presentation. It was created in cooperation with photographer Michaela Karaskova and graphic designer Marius Corradini.
The opening film of the festival, which will take place online on November 5, will be German drama No Hard Feelings (Futur Drei). If it wasn’t for his bad habit of minor thefts, young Parvis would continue living in a German town enjoying wild parties and all sorts of experimentation. This colourful story about conspiratorial closeness, trust and the need to belong deservedly won this year’s Teddy Award. Also because the central question of the story is highly relevant: can a foreign country ever become a genuine home?
Festival passes are also on sale until October 15. They allow Mezipatra visitors to see seven films for the price of five.
