Rosie

International Feature Film Competition

The 40-year-old writer Lorenz is going through a creative crisis and not even the time-proven method of gathering inspiration in Berlin darkrooms is of help. He is then  all of a sudden confronted with having to take care of his mother, the cunning pensioner Rosie, whose lifestyle full of wine and cigarettes resulted in stroke. Upon arrival to the countryside, however, Lorenz encounters instead of the despondent old lady, a lively lady who is doing her best to disregard the doctors’ restrictions and terrorize people around her with her one of a kind charm.  Although it is not completely clear who is taking care of whom, the mother and son are getting closer together. Rosie’s health is improving and Lorenz is finding a new lust for life, especially with the help of a young fanboy who shows up in the village. But as hard as it is to overcome alcoholism or depression, it is even harder to live a life of lies - and Rosie managed to knit a full web of them.
