Love Is Strange

International Feature Film Competition

Once upon a time, there was a city called New York and it was the most free megalopolis in the world. Even George (Alfred Molina) could marry any husband he wanted. And he wanted Ben. And Ben (John Lithgow) wanted George. For thirty-nine years. And when the magnanimous state of New York finally said yes to the engaged, they could promise to love each other until death do them part. Yet they didn't expect one more trial waiting for them in the autumn of their lives. Because of his new marriage, George loses his teaching job in a Catholic school, and since living in New York isn't easy on the pocket, he urgently needs to solve his accommodation problem. Ben will temporarily stay with his niece, writer Kate, while George will move in with Ted and his boyfriend. “When you're living together with people, you get to know them more than you'd like to.” But you still can love someone till the end of your life. Love is simply peculiar. The star-cast film by director Ira Sachs (“Keep the Lights On” - the winner of 2012 Mezipatra) has already been met with enthusiasm of both critics and viewers at the Sundance Film Festival.
