Something Must Break / Nånting Måste Gå Sönder

In their live-action debut, Ester Martin Bergsmark develops the of blurring the lines in our perception of gender identity, and tells the story of a fateful love that clashes with these lines in a unique visual style. This unusual romance in a world full of disillusions won a Tiger Award at the Rotterdam IFF in 2014. In the same year, the film won at Mezipatra as well, receiving the Main Jury's Award for Best Feature Film.

Viktor Heumann presents:
Finally a trans film that is worth seeing allround. And hopefully also proof that something is slowly changing in the way trans characters and stories are depicted on film. After enjoying this wild ride where the main character looks for and finds her true self in life as well as in a relationship -- with sex, drugs, IKEA and Roxette included -- it was amazing to watch the brilliant Saga Becker as a trans actress winning a “Swedish Lion” for Best Actress for the role of Ellie.

Film is suitable for adults (18+) only.
